 The backing system with more than 30 years of proven performance. Introduced in 1971 as the first high-performance backing system, Unibond continues to set the standards for strength, durability and longevity. Most recently, Unibond was certified as an Environmentally Preferrable Product. The Unibond system was the first carpet backing system to eliminate the need for seam sealers and welds; the first to eliminate the need for chair pads; and the first to offer a lifetime warranty. Unibond provides a moisture barrier and is impervious to moisture; moisture will not affect Unibond's strength and performance. 300 million square yards of carpet with Unibond backing have been installed around the world.  Unibond RE is the next generation of environmentally sustainable carpet. Unibond RE backing is the first broadloom backing system certified by Scientific Certification Systems to contain not less than 20% post-consumer recycled materials by total product weight. Unibond RE offers all of the performance benefits of Unibond backing.  And, because of Unibond backing's long history of environmentally friendly performance, Lees is able to offer this innovative product without having to retool our manufacturing facility, make wholesale changes to our materials or take on other significant new costs. Thirty years of continuous commitment to sustainability allows us to offer Unibond RE backing at the same price as Unibond backing.
